Private Residence

I worked on this project from 2003-2004 while working with the firm MV+A Architects. This existing house was renovated to expand to the demands of a young and growing family in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. The existing house was 2,000 sf and the renovation and addition increased the square footage to approximately 9,000 sf. The property on which the house was sited also included a swimming pool, tennis court and pool house. The existing house was very small in relation to the site and did not engage the outdoor activities that were an important part of the property to the young family. The house was also updated to include modern conveniences such as a larger master bath, additional electrical outlets and data ports to support the electrical appliances not in existence during the design and construction of the original house.
